Buddhists and the Death Penalty

For no other reason than it's of immense concern to me.

A (very long) article:

I have this on Word if anyone wants to take a copy.
"Since 2000, only five countries are known to have executed juvenile offenders: China, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iran, Pakistan, and the USA. 13 of these 21 executions have been in the USA. On January 21, 2004, Amnesty International launched its Stop Child Executions campaigning action to end this "shameful practice" once and for all."
If anyone wants to discuss this, post on the Hub!

Hello,
There is a scientific study about the costs of Death Penalty. It has been proved that the Costs of Death Penalty, including the Time on the Death Corridor the Lethal Injection or other form of killing can cost between 3 to 5 million Dollars. However, if a person is convicted lifetime for a crime,it will cost to the State 1 million dollars. I do know that a Human Life cannot be measured by costs of money, but even supporters of Death Penalty consider more important the money. No Person should be killed.Yes, needs to be convicted and spent some time in prison, but above all, we should consider that any person can change and become a good person by helping other people. Nevertheless, we live in a violent society that prefers the Death Penalty. We should keep in mind that it is possible to change the society and we must believe that one Day Death Penaty will be abolish all over the world. We Portuguese should be proud of our country to be one of the First in the World to abolish Death Penalty.

One of hem is about what is happening in Singapore. For those who do not know, Singapore is know the Headquarters for many Companies related with BioTechnology, NanoTechnology. The State of the Art in Technology is made there. This is due to the fact that the companies benefit from several governmental benefits. Nevertheless, the Government also considers Death Penalty as a measure to prevent crimes. As a result, Human Rights are not taken in consideration in that country.
