CAEX Links

Here's the gapped sentences quiz we did in class. These are pretty difficult - perhaps more CPE than CAE!

The online practice test for CAE is here. http://olpt.s3.amazonaws.com/online-cae/index.html This is just a sample, so the number of questions you can do is limited.

The Chocolate Taster

Proficiency One students who would like to listen again to the interview with the chocolate taster can do so by clicking here. http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/360/the-chocolate-taster/3104604. Incidentally, ABC Radio National has lots of interesting programmes to listen to online or to download as podcasts - it's worth checking their website out.

The Hobbit

ALL of my Proficiency students should have read the first 4 chapters of 'The Hobbit' by now. If you're behind, make an effort to catch up this week, or else you'll get left behind, which on a journey like this one could be very serious indeed, as Bilbo would tell you!

Prof 1 9S Homework

Preferably to be given to me on Saturday November 17, or emailed to me by Monday November 19.

Prof 1 - 9S (Saturday morning group)

Remember, you should have read the first 4 chapters of 'The Hobbit' by now. Don't get behind! Also, remember you need to read and prepare either page 17 or page 128-9, reading and vocabulary, depending on whether you are A or B.

Prof 1 17F (Friday group)

Remember, there will be a progress test this week! The test will include material we have done from unit 1 of the student's book, materials from units 13 and 41 of English Vocabulary in Use Advanced, and may include questions based on supplementary materials you have done in the first half of the term. It will NOT include any questions on 'The Hobbit'. BE PREPARED!!
