Good news for anyone who wants to brush up on their writing skills over the summer! Yesterday I was given the go ahead to run an online Advanced Writing Skills summer course. Essentially the course will work like this:
* There will be six writing tasks, three in July and three in September, of which participants will be expected to do at least five.
* Each week, I will post guidelines on a given writing type, for example proposal or review. I will then set two alternative writing tasks of this writing type.
* Participants will then write their compositions, and post them on a forum set up for this purpose.
* I will highlight errors, give suggestions for correct answers, and make comments on work done, also on the forum.
* The price of this is low, as it's offically a pilot project, so it's pretty good value. DO make use of it, especially if you're repeating a level and want to improve, if you're progressing from AC2.1 to AC2.2 and are a bit weak at writing, or if you are taking the CPE exam in December.
I will be contacting students I think could particularly benefit from this soon, but do get in touch with me if you would like further information. Information is also available from British Council Registry.
Look forward to working with some of you over the summer!
