Set Books

Hello everyone, and Happy New Leap Year 2008! Since it IS a leap year, the girls get a chance to ask the boys this year. Don't miss your chance, girls! More on that later (around February 29th probably).

On to serious things now, and still a few weeks of session one to go, but exams coming up soon, and close to the exam, the test question on 'Junk', which everyone has hopefully read by now. Remember, this is not part of the exam, but a separate test exercise, which is worth 10% of the session's marks.

The set book for next session, as most of you will know, is 'My Family and Other Animals' by Gerald Durrell. My recommendation is to buy 'The Corfu Trilogy', which includes 'My Family and Other Animals' and the other two books about Gerald Durrell's childhood years on Corfu, 'Birds Beasts and Relatives' and 'Garden of the Gods'.

You will find the book(s) challenging in terms of vocabulary, but highly entertaining, very well written, and well worth the effort.
