CHRISTMAS HOMEWORK!

Just in case you missed the last class:

YFC (YB2.2) - your homework is:

FCE Examination Papers 7: Test 1 Paper 1, Test 1 Paper 2 Part 1, Test 1 Paper 3

CPE1 (AC2.1) - your homework was given out in class. Either see one of your classmates to get a copy, or arrange to see me! I anticipate being in Breiner Monday morning, and will be popping in over Tuesday and Wednesday - if you let me know you're coming in, I can leave you the homework at reception.

Members of AC2.1-19TT were each issued with a Quick Read book. If you didn’t get one, you should try to come in when the library is open (next week, Tuesday – Friday, 2 - 5.30 pm) to take one.

Members of AC2.1-14S have elected to read ‘Brick Lane’. We agreed to read up to page 80 by the first class in January. If you haven’t got this book, you should do your best to come into the library to take a copy before Christmas! Library opening times before Christmas: Tuesday – Friday 2 - 5.30 pm

CPE2 (AC2.2) - your homework is:

CPE Examination Papers 3: Test 1 Paper 1, Test 2 Paper 2 Part 1, Test 1 Paper 3 Parts 1-4, not part 5.

AC2.2-19W have elected to read ‘1984’. We agreed to read up to page 72 by the first class in January. If you haven’t got this book, you should do your best to come into the library to take a copy before Christmas! Library opening times before Christmas: Tuesday – Friday 2 - 5.30 pm

Advanced Vocabulary

Could everyone in my AC2.2-19W class please check very carefully to see whether they took away the only copy of the black Advanced Vocabulary book that we were looking at in the Computer Room. If it slipped into your bag or file, please bring it back this week. Other teachers want to use it and other students can benefit from it!

Thanks.

Mark

PQB

Check out my colleague, Peter's, web-site. His 'Word(s) of the Week' are words which he suggests his students look up in dictionaries, the BNC etc are well worth working on. Also, some nice grammar points to revise. And some useful links.

Thanks, Peter!

Prison Talk

Here's something a bit different - a talk, Common Good, given by a Buddhist Chaplain in a U.S. prison! It's an excellent clear recording, whatever you make of the content!

"Recording from a prison workshop at Hardee Correctional Institution in Florida. Regulations normally prevent the taping of Bo's prison talks, so this is a rare opportunity to experience."
